About Canmore

Canmore is the eastern gateway to the Canadian Rockies and Alberta's mountain parks. Travelling from Calgary, this vibrant mountain village is only a few minutes short of Banff National Park.

Canmore retains a quaint low-key character where locals still form the better part of this welcoming town. The streets are packed with homegrown bakeries, bookshops, galleries and sporting shops. The soaring peaks, clear lakes and deep forests are key features in a region where the outdoors remains the central attraction. The Canmore Nordic Centre for one has miles of groomed cross-country ski trails on the town's doorstep.

We've highlighted a few well-known attractions, as well as a couple of local gems you may not have heard about, as we think all are well worth a visit:

  • artsPlace
  • Canmore Cave tours
  • Rebound Cycle
  • Canmore Museum & Geoscience Centre
  • Canmore Nordic Centre
  • Trail Sports
