The Geohazards 7 abstract submission phase is now complete and corresponding authors have been advised of their submission’s acceptance by e-mail. Over 100 abstracts were received and many have been selected to move on to the technical paper submission phase. The titles and corresponding authors of accepted abstracts will be posted on the Accepted Abstracts page.

Complete technical papers must be submitted by February 16, 2018 using the Online Abstract/Paper Submission feature of this website. Authors of accepted abstracts who prefer a poster presentation format have the option of submitting a full-length technical paper, or an extended abstract. Corresponding authors will be required to register as a delegate for the conference before they can submit their paper(s) or extended abstract(s) – the online delegate registration and payment system will be functional by mid-December, 2017.

The Author's Release, Declaration and Understanding has been incorporated into the online submission process – all corresponding authors must select “Yes” in the Copyright Permission field or the paper or extended abstract will not be uploaded to the site.

The Geohazards 7 Technical Committee will review all papers and extended abstracts for clarity, technical merit and relevance to the conference. Our goal is to inform corresponding authors of their paper or extended abstract’s acceptance and presentation format (oral or poster) by February 28, 2018 and possibly before. In cases where the reviewing team feels revisions are necessary, comments will be provided with revised papers or abstracts being due by March 31, 2018. A full-length paper must be submitted to be eligible for consideration for an oral presentation.

All accepted papers and extended abstracts, for which at least one author has registered for the conference, will appear in the published proceedings of the conference – each registrant will receive a digital version as part of their delegate registration.

To help authors ensure their paper and extended abstracts meets the conference’s presentation requirements, a Technical Paper Template/Guideline and an Extended Abstract Template/Guideline have been prepared. All authors must use this template and follow the guidelines to help ensure presentation uniformity in the conference proceedings – submissions that do not follow the prescribed formatting guidelines will be returned.

Final decisions regarding technical merit, relevance, the assigned session topic for submitted papers and extended abstracts, and the presentation format (oral or poster) will rest with the Technical Subcommittee. Questions regarding the review process, sessions and the technical program should be directed to the Geohazards 7 Technical Committee:
